Support active and upcoming UK construction projects on a project-by-project contract basis, providing setting out, surveying, QA and site engineering expertise as a self-employed professional.
About the Role
As a Contract Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer at AVVSJ, you will support active and upcoming construction projects across the UK on a project-by-project basis. You will provide setting out, surveying, quality assurance and site engineering support, working with project teams to help ensure works are delivered accurately and in accordance with project requirements.
This opportunity is intended for experienced self-employed engineers available for contract assignments according to project requirements and individual availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out setting out using Total Station, Dumpy Level and Laser equipment.
- Carrying out as-built surveys and quality assurance checks.
- Reviewing technical drawings and relevant site information.
- Maintaining accurate QA records and site documentation.
- Supporting site teams with engineering and setting-out requirements.
- Supporting compliance with site health and safety requirements.
- Coordinating effectively with project and site teams during assigned works.
Skills & Experience
- UK experience as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer.
- Practical experience with setting out and surveying equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and site information.
- Good understanding of QA checks and site documentation.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Existing right to work in the UK.
- Availability to undertake project-based assignments on a self-employed basis.
- Willingness to travel for suitable projects across the UK.
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification is desirable.
- First Aid certification is desirable.
